It is described as “ideally placed for access to Watford General Hospital, Vicarage Road Stadium or Watford town centre”

A new 13-bedroom development worth £1.24 million has been completed at the former Brightwell Court site.

Thistley House, on the corner of Hagden Lane and Brightwell Road, was the final development in Watford Community Housing and Watford Borough Council’s social rent programme, which involved building 56 homes and cost £15.2 million. Work at the site got underway in November 2020, after permission was granted for the Brightwell Court housing block to be demolished. At a 2020 planning meeting, the agent for Watford Community Housing, Ransford Stewart, said the current accommodation"was not up to standard". He also said the new design was"high quality" and the homes will be offered to those who"desperately" need them.

The new building is made up of 13 two-bedroom apartments for social rent and has private parking spaces and balconies. It is described by Watford Community Housing as “ideally placed for access to Watford General Hospital, Vicarage Road Stadium or Watford town centre”.WCH chief executive Tina Barnard said: “Over the past few years we’ve worked closely with Watford Borough Council to deliver modern, affordable homes across Watford, and we are proud of what we have achieved.
