A child was among five people hospitalized after an early Sunday morning rollover crash.
An early Sunday rollover crash on the Eisenhower Expressway left five people hospitalized, including one child, according to the Chicago Fire Department and Illinois State Police.
The crash, involving two vehicles at Kedzie Avenue, took place around 2:13 a.m., with paramedics responding at 2:40 a.m., fire officials said. State police said they did not have information about the types of vehicles involved or whether one or both vehicles were carrying the five victims who were hospitalized as a result of injuries from the crash.An adult and a child were taken to Stroger Hospital in serious-to-critical condition, but their conditions later were stabilized.
All lanes of Interstate 290 west at California Avenue were closed at 2:46 a.m. for the investigation and later reopened around 8 a.m., according to state police.Circumstances leading up to the crash were not immediately clear and state police said they did not have additional information to release Sunday morning. Fire officials did not detail the specific types of injuries suffered.
