These 10 Barbie & Ken Dolls should be in a sequel.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Barbie has been a smashing success, with viewers already talking about Barbie 2, and if it does end up happening there are 10 Barbies and Kens that would be great to see in it. Directed by Greta Gerwig, Barbie stars Margot Robbie as the beloved and iconic toy that has been a staple in children's arsenals of playthings for decades.
It would also be fun for viewers to get to see a younger Barbie on screen in Barbie 2. In the first Barbie movie, it seems like all the Barbies and Kens are the same age, although how old Barbie and Ken are is not explicitly stated. Stacie is said to only be 11 years old in the show, Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures, so her being included would allow audiences to see Barbieland from a child's perspective.
While audiences got Latina representation through Sasha and her mom, it would be great to see some within Barbieland as well. In addition to being one of Barbie's besties, the Teresa doll is known as somewhat of a tech genius. This could lead to a whole slew of storylines involving Teresa being the brains behind the Barbie operation.
5 Becky The Barbie movie was filled with representation and messaging about important societal issues. Barbie 2 could include this key messaging as well and introduce the character of Becky, a Barbie in a wheelchair with an interesting backstory. Becky was introduced in 1997, and there were three dolls made in her likeness. It was quickly realized, though, that they could not fit into the Barbie Dream House.
