These dead MCU characters had wasted potential.

It's unavoidable that characters will be killed off in a good vs. evil franchise like the MCU, but some simply seem to come too soon.
9 Quicksilver When thinking about MCU characters who died way too soon, Quicksilver is often one of the first to come up. The twin of Wanda Maximoff was introduced in the Captain America: The Winter Soldier mid-credits scene and played a substantial role in Avengers: Age of Ultron. As he and his sister swapped sides to ally with the Avengers, it looked like the MCU was setting him up to be a future key player.
7 Yondu Yondu scored himself a total of two MCU appearances, which is at least more than what most side characters get. He is an antagonist of sorts in Guardians of the Galaxy, but he is far from a villain. By the time of Vol. 2, he establishes himself as a trustworthy ally. His sacrifice for Peter may have been a fitting end, but it is also an example of why every story arc doesn’t have to end in death.
Having him sacrifice himself for his son may have seemed like the natural direction for his story, but it didn’t have to be that way. It would’ve been just as intriguing and satisfactory to have Wenwu spared in Shang-Chi, setting up a reformed relationship between him and his children. Shang-Chi and Xialing will definitely be back in the MCU, and Wenwu’s return along with them could’ve been his deserved redemption arc and a chance for him to accept that the Rings could be used for good.
4 Ramonda Queen Ramonda’s death may have been necessary to Shuri’s character arc, but having her death be a plot device for someone else feels like a disservice to her character. She was the strong, powerful leader of Wakanda, and the country deserved to have some stability after the passing of King T’Challa. Especially with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, it seemed like the film could’ve built up Ramonda for a much more substantial role in the MCU.
2 Mysterio Quentin Beck looked to be an ally when he was introduced in Spider-Man: Far From Home, but he turned out to be one of the biggest threats to Peter’s life. Even after Beck’s death at the end of the film, his actions have had lasting ramifications for Spider-Man’s career and Peter’s personal life. However, Mysterio as a character is way too intriguing to be given up on so quickly.
