Aliza Sherman's killer is still on the loose after 10 years.
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Jan Lash lives with the guilt of not being there when her best friend, Aliza Sherman, was brutally murdered in broad daylight outside of her divorce attorney’s office building in downtown Cleveland.
Lash believes Aliza was lured to her attorney’s office. She said Aliza was going through a messy divorce with her estranged husband, Sanford Sherman, at the time of her death.“She was so distraught and so afraid, and she just wanted this divorce to be over and move on with her life, though she knew he would never totally leave her alone,” Lash read from her notes.
Moore sent text messages to Aliza moments before and after her death, saying that he was inside his office. However, investigators discovered he was not actually in the building. “Here’s a woman who is devoting her life to care for other people and then her life is taken from her,” Mussell said. There is never a time that Mussell, who is also a mother, shuts off her investigative mindset. She said each case stays with her twenty-four hours a day, and she wants every victim’s family to know that she is committed to putting in the work.
