Police were called to reports of a burglary on Moor Road in Chorley and found around 100 cannabis plants inside
A large cannabis farm has been found by police after a group of men 'armed with weapons' were seen attacking a house door.
Officers attended Moor Road in Chorley at 12.30am today to reports of a burglary. Inside the property they found 100 cannabis plants and evidence that the electricity had been bypassed. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing. Police are appealing for information, dashcam and doorbell footage in relation to the incident.Sgt Paul Harrison, from Chorley Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "The cultivation of cannabis causes misery for local communities and funds serious and organised crime. People who grow cannabis may be directly funding organised crime.
"Tampering with electricity supplies to power these cannabis farms can have lethal consequences for neighbouring properties. It is important that we work with communities to make sure that everyone knows what to look out for – from screened-off windows and unusual amounts of heat emanating from a property to signs of bypassing electricity meters and strange smells or sounds.
