Cleveland Police on Monday announced they have arrested the 15-year-old in connection to the shooting after a fight outside of Cleveland Central Catholic High School.
Cleveland Police previously said a 15-year-old was shot in the side during a fight with another 15-year-old student at 2:48 p.m. Oct. 13 at the intersection of Baxter Ave. and E. 65th Street.
CPD says the 15-year-old, who was transported to a local hospital, remains hospitalized as of Monday. Cleveland Police Sgt. Wilfredo Diaz says detectives identified information that led them to the shooting suspect, and arrested the teen on charges of felonious assault. Cleveland Catholic Diocese spokeswoman Nancy Fishburn previously confirmed the school would be closed Monday to students.
The school also played their homecoming game against John F. Kennedy, located in Warren, on Saturday.RELATED: 15-year-old shot during fight outside Cleveland Central Catholic High SchoolStrongsville pewee football game called off after heated argument between assistant coach, parentsMason High School Marching Band receives formal invitation to 2024 Rose Parade
