It’s unknown if the ammunition is missing or lost or if someone stole it from the order.
In an email statement to the press, Shelley Kay Nulph, Public and Community Relations Manager for the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, had this to say: “VA Pittsburgh received a pallet of police training ammunition April 10. Within an hour of receipt, VA Police noticed that two cases, consisting of 2,000 rounds, were missing from the order.”
“They immediately notified VA’s Office of Security and Law Enforcement and Office of the Inspector General and initiated their own internal investigation. The VA Police also contacted the manufacturer and shipping companies, who are conducting separate internal reviews,” Nulph continued. The investigation is ongoing. Hence, this story is developing. As of publication, it’s unknown if the ammunition is missing or lost or if someone stole it from the order.
