Officials with WSSC said a water main break led to a boil water advisory for residents and businesses in Montgomery County's Cabin John and Glen Echo areas.
On Friday, Lyn Riggins, a spokeswoman for WSSC, said in an email that the pipe had been repaired “as of this morning and water is back on.” But she said the boil water advisory is in place for a few days so tests can be done to ensure the quality and safety of the water.
The water main break caused a “small portion of the WSSC Water system to lose pressure,” officials said in a . When a break happens, officials said, there is an “increased risk of contamination to the water distribution system.”
