Two are dead after a truck fell from an overpass and struck a train in north Alabama.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating an early morning crash in Limestone County involving a train, which left two people dead. The incident happened just north of Athens at around 5 a.m., according to Limestone County Coroner Mike West. A truck based out of Nashville was driving north on Interstate 65 when it fell off an overpass and onto the tracks near Roberts Road, colliding with a train, traveling west. It is unclear how long the truck was on the track prior to the collision.
