An 83-year-old man and 59-year-old woman were killed in a head-on collision north of Monticello on Thursday.
MONTICELLO — Two people were killed following a head-on crash on state Route 191 early Thursday.
A Ford Taurus was traveling north on state Route 191 a few miles north of Monticello and just south of the Needles Overlook exit around 12:47 a.m. At the same time, a Nissan Sentra was southbound in the same area. One of the vehicles crossed over the center line and collided head-on with the other, the Utah Highway Patrol said, after which a Penske commercial vehicle struck the Sentra.
The drivers and only occupants of the Taurus and Sentra, an 83-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman, respectively, were both killed, UHP said.Investigators have not released the identities of the two victims and are still trying to determine what caused the crash.
