A rockslide killed two people Tuesday near the entrance to Yosemite National Park in California, authorities said.
The rockslide occurred at about 9 a.m. local time Tuesday on El Portal Road, according to the Mariposa County Sheriff's Office, KFSN-TV reported Thursday. Yosemite National Park officials posted on social media that El Portal Road was closed following the slide. The road has since reopened. El Portal Road is closed due to a significant rockfall. Access to Yosemite Valley is still possible via Hwy 41/Wawona Road and Hwy 120/Big Oak Flat Road. Tire chains may be required. 209/372-0200 for road info.
