They say they initially had reports of gunshots coming from the area near Highway 281 just north of Bitters Road. “There was a large fight in the parking lot and one of the members of the party that was in the fight actually took out a gun and shot in the air several times,” said Chief Shad Pritchard with the Hollywood Park Police Department. “His idea was to break up the fight.”Pritchard says as they began to do that, another man in the group got involved. He also was arrested.
“Whenever he started interfering with the officers and their ability to do an investigation, then that’s when it becomes a crime,” he said.Police from San Antonio and Hill Country Village, and deputies with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, all showed up to help and get the situation under control. Video shows one handcuffed man struggling against officers who were attempting to take him into custody.“It looked like a really big deal with all the police presence,” Pritchard said. “In today’s age with active shooters, we cannot take any chances.”Copyright 2023 by KSAT - All rights reserved.Katrina Webber joined KSAT 12 in December 2009.
