The Bay Area is expected to see two rounds of rain before the end of this week.
On Tuesday morning, the coldest temperatures in the Bay Area were in the North Bay where several locations dropped below. At 6 a.m., downtown Petaluma was a frigid 27 degrees and northern Santa Rosa 28 degrees. In the East Bay, Concord's Buchanan Field Airport was a bone-chilling 30 degrees, and in the South Bay, San Jose got down to 37 degrees.
The frigid weather comes after a cold front swept the Bay Area on Sunday, ushering in air from the British Columbia area, Gass explained. "We are expecting it to be slightly warmer on Wednesday morning, but there will still be some frost out there and freezing temps in the coldest spots," Gass said.
