According to U.S. Attorney Hamdani, Flowers and Hernandez are just two of the eight people charged in connection with a human smuggling operation that became a kidnapping for ransom in March.Six others were charged and also taken into custody for their role in the deadly smuggling event. Christian Hernandez, 25, is expected to make his initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Sam S. Sheldon on Tuesday.
Court documents allege on March 17 and 18, a migrant smuggling operation resulted in the armed kidnapping of three migrants along I-10 East in Waller County. Three other victims were shot and left at the scene, according to the allegations.
