A 31-year-old man and an 18-year-old male were wounded in the shootings Monday in West Akron.
AKRON, Ohio — Two males were hospitalized after they were wounded in separate shootings Monday in West Akron, according to police.
When they arrived at the scene, they found a 23-year-old man, identified as Quashane Harris, with a loaded handgun in his waistband. Harris also had about 30 grams of marijuana, police say. Harris was taken to the Summit County Jail on charges of carrying concealed weapons, weapons under disability, and possession of drugs, police say. The shooting victim is listed in stable condition and his injuries are not considered life-threatening, police say.
At about 11:30 p.m., police were called to a shooting at a residence on the 400 block of Noah Avenue. They found the 18-year-old victim inside the home with a gunshot wound. The homeowner and at least two other teens were inside the home when the shooting occurred but were not wounded, police say.
