National Awards winners, a list that aims to highlight some of the UK’s best new buildingsNational Awards have just been revealed, crowning 29 UK buildings as the year’s finest selection of architectural projects. The winners include works that span different parts of the country, and tackle many scales and typologies; yet they are united by common threads of innovation, sustainability, and a focus on community-building.
The list of winners – which is diverse in many ways but falls short when it comes to racial diversity and gender balance – spans projects such as the redesign of a traditional village pub in North Yorkshire ; a remodelled London landmark ; fabulous family homes ; a net-zero-carbon office building in the City of London ; a viewing tower in Suffolk ; and the UK’s first secondary school to achieve ‘Passivhaus’ eco status .
