And yes, you read the price list correctly — the Forte with the six-speed manual costs $1,000 more than the Forte with the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The manual gets gas mileage that's 13% worse than the automatic on the combined cycle, too. Therates the DCT as getting 27 miles per gallon in the city, 35 mpg on the highway, 30 mpg combined. Rowing your own gears drops that to 22 mpg city, 31 mpg highway and 26 combined. Those trims are both powered by a turbocharged 1.
