The 81-kWh battery will become available later, as it fits under the 144-inch-wheelbase vans. The 56-kWh battery pack will not be offered in the U.S. Like the EQG off-roader, the eSprinter's rear axle is a De Dion type. This design features a beam that links the wheel hubs like a solid axle, but the drive from the e-motor, which is rigidly mounted to the sub-frame bolted to the rear of the chassis, is via half-shafts with universal joints at either end.
