Disney originally planned to bring the Hamilton film to the big screen in North American on Oct. 15, 2021. In a surprise announcement sure to delight Broadway fans who are missing live theater, Disney+ announced on Tuesday that the original Broadway production ofThe production of the Tony-winning hip-hop historical musical was filmed live onstage at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York over three days in 2016.
