MOC works to uplift bedridden patients with music, while Hyundai Hope On Wheels remains committed to finding a cure to cancer in children. The two non-profit organizations join forces for the next four weeks to bring patients closer to their favorite artists and hundreds of hospital staffers in one room for a special tribute show.
"Hospital patients are currently facing higher levels of isolation and caregivers are pulling double duty with both their traditional roles and COVID-19 response. In such a stressful environment, music can have a profound positive impact," said MOC President & CEO Pete Griffin in a press release.
Audiences at home can still delight in the performances, which will air on MOC and Hyundai Hope On Wheels' social media accounts every weekday at 7 p.m. ET to align with hospital shift changes and people's daily expression of gratitude for their healthcare heroes. Scott Fink, Hyundai Hope on Wheels Chair, expressed his gratitude for the partnership with MOC because music really does heal, according to the organization's decades-long research.
"For the last 22 years, Hyundai has partnered with children’s hospitals nationwide to help kids fight cancer," Fink said in the release."Children battling cancer and other diseases can be in the hospital for extended periods of time and research shows that music has positive benefits during treatment.
