4 shot, including 2 security guards, during 'large gunfight' at concert in south Houston, police say
Houston police arrived around 3 a.m. at a venue in the 4900 block of Fuqua, near Cottingham, Lt. Ronnie Willkens said. Officers were told that before the"large gunfight," an altercation happened between one security guard and two individuals, he said.
Houston police are investigating after four people were shot, including two security guards, during a"large gunfight" Saturday at a concert.The two individuals, who were both possibly armed with rifles, began shooting at the guard, according to Willkens. Once initial shots were fired, the other two security guards came over to assist.Once the gunfight was finished, the two shooters drove off in a black vehicle.
Two of the security guards were taken to a hospital after the shooting. They're both in stable condition and"are expected to live," Willkens stated. Police became aware of a third shooting victim who was hit by gunfire a"little ways down from Fuqua," according to Willkens. The fourth victim arrived at a hospital after driving themselves, he said.
Willkens said he wasn't sure if the venue was privately owned, but officers have been there previously after receiving reports of loud noises and disturbances.
