Atlanta, Georgia is in many ways the progressive epicenter of the south and this year celebrated its 49th annual Atlanta Pride Festival with over 300,000 people who showed up and showed out. Atlanta Pride is brought to the city by the Atlanta Pride Committee which is Georgia's oldest non-profit agency serving the LGBTQ community as an advocate of and resource to gender and sexually diverse communities in Atlanta and the Southeastern United States.
AT&T was proud to sponsor this year’s Atlanta Pride activities as they’ve been an ally to the LGBTQ+ community for almost 45 years. The company kicked off Pride with an exclusive event benefiting The Trevor Project,The evening featured performances by queer musician - and Kesha’s writing partner - Wrabel and, of course, the glitter loving woman herself.
But the party didn’t stop there. Thanks to AT&T, Kesha headlined Atlanta Pride Festival the next day to an audience of about 80,000. The brand also delivered non-stop sparkle to Atlanta Pride goers all weekend-long with their 1975-inspired Turn Up the Love Salon situated just steps from the main stage. The salon accepted bookings all day long across the 2 days and kept guests grooving to 70s-inspired beats whilst educating them on The Trevor Project’s life-saving services.
Earlier this year, The Trevor Project and AT&T re-launched their mobile resource TrevorChat and Trevor Text at 24/7 service levels. For any young people that find themselves alone or in crisis, they can text or speak to someone who can offer resources, help or just a listening ear around the clock, every day of the year.
