Next is Vladimir Guerrero clocking in at No. 77 all-time. Known primarily as an LA Angel, Guerrero spent just one season with Texas, though the Rangers won the franchise’s first pennant that season, and Vlad was a heavy contributor. Nolan Ryan checks in at No. 42. Ryan played with the Rangers from 1989-93 and with the Astros for nine seasons prior to that. The all-time leader in strikeouts, ESPN’s Sean Doolittle says of Ryan: “There has never been anyone else quite like the Ryan Express.”
The highest-ranking former Ranger, coming in at No. 26, is Alex Rodriguez. A-Rod played three seasons in Texas and won an MVP with the Rangers before being traded to the Yankees, where he spent the last 13 seasons of his career. Other notables include former Washington Senator Walter Johnson coming in at No. 9, Highland Park native Clayton Kershaw at No. 52, and Mike Trout is the highest-ranking active player at No. 15.
