After a season showing as part of October 2022’s Frieze Week, the Serbian designer returned to the official London Fashion Week schedule with intimacy on her mind. Inspired by the meditative, almost ecclesiastical setting of her last show, held inside, she wanted to take that concept further. The result? A small, salon-inspired show inside Claridge’s French Salon and Drawing Room. “I loved the idea of the models’ skirts brushing past the audience as they walked,” Ilinčić explained.
“I always hold myself back from creating sculptures,” she explained of the pieces which bobbed down the runway. “They have to flatter the female body.”Tanaka created canvases swathed in colourful synthetic paint circles that were reminiscent of electrical circuitry.
