The PSNI has released provisional figures for road deaths in Northern Ireland in 2024, revealing a total of 68 fatalities. This number is lower compared to 2023 but still a significant concern. Infrastructure Minister John O'Dowd has launched a road safety appeal, urging the public to prioritize safety on the roads and spread awareness.
The number of deaths on Northern Ireland 's roads in 2024 has been confirmed by the PSNI as they launch an annual road safety appeal. Provisional figures released on Tuesday show that in 2024 there were 68 deaths on the roads in Northern Ireland as a result of road traffic collisions (up to 11.59pm on 30/12/2024). This compares to a total of 71 deaths for the full year of 2023 and 55 deaths in 2022.

We all know what we should do, yet too many people take risks.' The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) is actively committed to improving road safety in partnership with the PSNI, the Fire and Rescue Service, the Ambulance Service and other agencies.
