L’AMC Pacer jouit d’une certaine popularité auprès des collectionneurs aujourd’hui, le genre d’intérêt que l’on porte à un véhicule qui était un mal-aimé à son époque. Si bien que sur le marché, un modèle en bonne condition peut se vendre entre 7000 $ ou 8000 $.
Le modèle a évidemment profité de son passage au grand écran pour se vendre à un tel prix. Autrement, l’intérêt n’aurait jamais été aussi important. L’annonce de la vente aux enchères indique que la relique est restée inactive pendant 20 ans après le tournage. Elle a par la suite fait l’objet d’une restauration complète avant d’apparaître une première fois aux enchères de Barrett-Jackson en 2016 . Elle avait alors été vendue pour la somme de 37 000 $. C’était déjà un montant fou à l’époque.
