Customers thronged branches of Mumbai-based New India Co-operative Bank on Friday, anxious to withdraw their deposits after the RBI imposed restrictions on withdrawals. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Thursday placed several restrictions, including a ban on withdrawals, amid supervisory concerns. Customers at the bank's Vijayanagar branch in Andheri, Mumbai, expressed confusion and uncertainty about when they would be able to access their funds. Some complained that the bank was not responding to their queries and its customer support services and app were down.
