A 32-year-old man died in an apparent accident after falling 40 feet from an escalator rail at Lincoln Financial Field, whereThe incident occurred shortly before 10:50 p.m. at the stadium, police said. The man was transported by private ambulance to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:10 a.m. Friday.

The man was sitting on the escalator railing as he rode it down, police said, and he suffered major head trauma. Police said they investigated the incident and the fall appears to have been accidental, with “no foul play suspected.”The Linc is operated by the Philadelphia Eagles. Bob Lange, senior vice president of communications for the Eagles, referred questions about the incident to police. Lange said he believed the concert was over and people were leaving at the time.An internal message sent to employees who worked during the concert mentioned the incident: “We understand that a serious accident occurred at the concert last night and that many of you may be experiencing a range of emotions. We value our employees and are committed to providing support.
