Leonard Allen Cure, 53, was released in 2020 after he was convicted for the 2003 armed robbery of a drug store in Florida’s Dania Beach.
Cure was sentenced to life in prison because he had previous convictions for robbery and other crimes.
Cure cooperated with the deputy until told he was under arrest, the news release says. Cure reportedly refused to cooperate with the deputy, who then used a Taser. The news release says Cure then attacked the deputy, who again used a Taser and also baton in an attempt to subdue him.
