A New Year's winter storm will snarl holiday travel from the mountain West into the Plains and Midwest. Our latest, updated forecast:
An energetic U-shaped jet stream trough will swing out of the West through the nation's midsection. Moisture flowing over the colder air on the storm's northern flank will wring out snow and some ice.During the day Friday, most of the accumulating snow will be over the high country of northern and eastern Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and Colorado.
