An iconic Mancunian sculpture could be reinstated to its original Northern Quarter home. The Big Horn sculpture, which stood opposite Afflecks Palace for nearly 20 years, could make a return to the shopping emporium, new planning documents show.

An excerpt from the Reference Visual Arts Database Service entry on the Big Horn was included by Bruntwood in its planning application. It said: “Kemp’s landmark sculpture was a massive musical instrument, to which were attached various eye-catching objects; the whole serpentine-like composition being coiled in and around the remains of the factory building.
