Ramsdale added: “He’s tried to do the right thing, clear it and it’s gone in, it’s unfortunate. But at the minute because of the situation and people are overhyping he shouldn’t be playing and he shouldn’t be here.
“Harry Maguire, as we’ve seen over the past few years for England, is one of the best defenders we’ve got. So strong mentally, he’s got a great group of people around him and his family. “He knows his qualities, he’s always a threat at set pieces, he knows he can defend, he knows he’s a leader and I love playing with him. Tonight was just one of those unfortunate things where it goes into the back of the net. On another day it goes out for a throw-in or a corner.”
