ABC News staff who have been in 'direct contact' with Chris Christie, who recently tested positive for COVID-19, will self-isolate.
Following news that presidential aide Chris Christie tested positive for COVID-19, ABC News released a statement on Saturday noting any staff that has been"in direct contact" with Christie will self-isolate for two weeks.
"This morning Governor Chris Christie announced he tested positive for COVID-19. He was last in our TV3 studio on Tuesday, and he won’t appear in our studio again until he’s cleared by a doctor, following guidance from the CDC and local health officials. Anyone on our staff in direct contact with the Governor as defined by the CDC will self-isolate for 14 days. We wish the Governor a speedy recovery," an ABC News spokesperson shared in a statement.
Christie was an in-studio analyst for the network's presidential debate coverage, and was on-set alongside anchor Linsey Davis, former Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel, Democracy for America's Yvette Simpson and GOP strategist Sara Fagen.Saturday that he will be receiving medical attention and"will keep the necessary folks apprised of my condition." He did not confirm whether he had symptoms.
