The translated Polizei Frankfurt tweet read: "During the first half of the game, one of the away fans threw a burning pyrotechnic object into the neighboring home fan block.The Dons were appearing in their first European group stage action for 16 years.Dante Polvara fired in a clinical equaliser shortly after for the Pittodrie side before half-time.
Aberdeen showed spirit and desire to be more than a match for their German counterparts but ultimately Eintracht Frankfurt picked up all three points on match day one of Group G when Robin Koch headed beyond Kelle Roos with an hour played.
