Migrants who served as interpreters in the war in Afghanistan are to be housed in refurbished residential homes in Arnold, it is believed. Residents on the Stockings Farm Estate noticed furniture being moved into an address on Ellington Road at the end of August and start of September.
Residents said they were frustrated it had taken so long to get information. The Ministry of Defence said they were "still considering options for leasing eight houses" they own in Nottinghamshire. He expressed a dissatisfaction to the move, saying: "What about our own people? If they come here, they should get on the market like everyone else. That's my opinion anyway."
But they added: "I'm not saying this is a wrong thing but we've got enough of our own struggling financially. No-one's paying my mortgage. I'm struggling. I've not got an en-suite in my property because I could never afford that. It is a very difficult one."
