Joe Biden: Let me be clear. Any American who wants to come home, we will get you home. Make no mistake, this evacuation mission is dangerous and involves risks to armed forces and it's being conducted under difficult circumstances. I cannot promise what the final outcome will be or what it will be, that it will be without risk of loss. But as Commander in Chief, I can assure you that I will mobilize every resource necessary.
Jessica Donati: This past week has brought a huge change for Afghan women. Before the Taliban arrived, which was barely a week ago, women were free to go out and have coffee with friends, they could go to university, they could go to work, they could see a future for themselves. And all of that has been swept away with the Taliban coming in.
Jessica Donati: The whole country has made progress over the past 20 years, especially if you look at the more urban areas like Kabul, they went from being really half destroyed cities with barely any access to power to bustling metropolises with shops and cafes and modern comforts. And for women, it's been a really long journey.
Annmarie Fertoli: Jessica, what do we know right now about the Taliban's plans in forming a new government, and especially as that concerns rights for women and girls?
