Daily News | Africatown Restaurant Week showcases on Woodland Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia
, through April 16, is putting the spotlight on a dozen restaurants, mostly in the neighborhood and commercial corridor of Woodland Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia.The Pew Research Center estimated last year
that the Philadelphia region is home to more than 120,000 African and Caribbean immigrants from about 35 countries. About half live in Southwest Philadelphia. The restaurant week’s food choices span the Caribbean and the nations of sub-Saharan Africa known as ECOWAS .Each restaurant is offering a 15% discount on food orders of $20 or more.
