Following the collapse of the pedestrian bridge near Dahlgreen Avenue, the city set up a temporary crossing.

"The Pedestrian Beacon Signal Crosswalk will remain until the City rebuilds the bridge," Public Works officials wrote in a news release. The signal crosswalk works through two lights, one yellow and one red, both intended for drivers. When the yellow light is flashing, approaching drivers are being warned of pedestrians' crossing, while a solid yellow light means drivers are to prepare to stop. A flashing red light means drivers are to stop and proceed after the intersection is clear of pedestrians, while a solid red light means drivers are to stop.
