Officials in at least 15 states across the country have issued warnings for residents not to plant unsolicited packages of seeds delivered through the mail and labeled as coming from China. The United States Department of Agriculture, the Department of Homeland Security, and other state and federal agencies
and federal agencies are investigating the packages that have shown up in mailboxes across the country.

"At this time, we don’t have any evidence indicating this is something other than a 'brushing scam' where people receive unsolicited items from a seller who then posts false customer reviews to boost sales," USDA officials said.
