Charlene Morrissey, 33, was knocked from her scooter into the path of a lorry last month and underwent surgery which saw medics remove some skin from her hand after it turned gangrene.

An Airdrie beautician who suffered horror injuries following a scooter accident in Bali has shared a photo from her hospital bed as she prepares to be flown home for medical treatment.

Her sister Alana shared a selfie with Charlene from her hospital bed, reports the Record, after medics confirmed to the family the Scot would be allowed to fly home to a hospital in the UK.READ MORE: Glasgow mum feared someone was trying to kill her after daughter's birth "The suffering Charlene has had I couldn't even imagine, but as her sister I honestly could not tell you the strength and courage she has shown and how proud myself, her family and friends are to call her our own superwoman."

Family friend Paula Gibbons, who created the fundraiser, wrote: "Over the past few days, Charlene has worked extremely hard to pass the minimum criteria to be allowed to travel. She will be medically escorted by a fully trained medic team back to the UK. When she lands, Charlene will be admitted straight to hospital where surgeons will be waiting to assess the condition of her arm after the journey and determine the next steps.
