Furious Airdrie defender Craig Watson says his side needs to toughen up if they are to get out of the hole they’re in.
Experienced defender Watson says their first-half performance against Kilby wasn’t acceptable, and that every single player needs to take a long, hard look at themselves.“We worked so hard for it last year, to get the title, and then to have thrown it away like that is bitterly disappointing.“There was a reaction in the second half for large parts of it, but it shouldn’t have to come to that, it shouldn’t take it to go a goal down and have a poor 45 minutes to get a reaction.
“I know it’s tough, especially from a fan’s point of view, who have enjoyed a few seasons of success under the recent regime here. Airdrie move on in the Championship with a trip to fifth-placed Partick Thistle, and Watson says they need to start clawing their way back to form.
