Charlene Morrissey, who has been working on the popular tourist island in Indonesia for six months, was rushed to hospital on July 21. The 33-year-old had been driving a scooter when a car collided with the side of the vehicle.
An Airdrie woman is fighting for her life after suffering life-changing injuries following a horror scooter crash in Bali.
However, after learning that the travel insurance wouldn't pay, the hospital reportedly stopped treatment just days later until £50,000 was paid by the family. Fortunately, they were able to raise the cash within 48 hours and she underwent a skin graft surgery which sadly failed. Medics are now hoping to use a pedicle flat, where the hand is stitched to the abdomen to allow skin to grow over the arm, in an attempt to save the limb. However, it won't be another week until it is attempted, with her currently recovering from an eight-hour operation on Thursday.
"Every single day that goes past, medical bills are mounting up. If the bill was already £50,000 within 48 hours you can imagine what it will be like in four or five weeks.
