A Union Springs resident accused of attempted murder was taken into custody after a massive search in Bullock County.
An Alabama attempted murder suspect was apprehended Friday following a massive search involving multiple law enforcement agencies, authorities said.
Several units from various divisions of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency responded to a request around 7 a.m. Friday from the Bullock County Sheriff’s Office to help in the manhunt for an attempted murder suspect, according to ALEA. The suspect, 26-year-old Union Springs resident Notorius Crenshon Baldwin, was captured around 11:27 a.m. in the woods near Alabama Highway 239 at the 21-mile marker, about seven miles south of Union Springs, in Bullock County, said ALEA spokesman Sgt. Jeremy Burkett.
Among the agencies that responded to the scene were: ALEA’s Aviation Unit, Special Agents and SWAT Team Members within the the State Bureau of Investigation, state troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division and officers from the Union Springs Police Department, the Bullock County Sheriff’s Office, the Alabama Department of Corrections K-9 Team and the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force, according to Burkett.
