Cadence Baker's AmericanIdol run may be over, but we haven't heard the last from this Alabama teen.
This is her first dose of fame, however, and Baker is still getting used to the spotlight.Now, thanks to “Idol,” Baker has a chance to share her music with a larger audience. She’s doing exactly that with “Peter Pan,” an original song that’s streaming on Amazon, Apple Music, Spotify and more.
“With this song, I’m having a little Taylor Swift moment,” Baker says. “This song was written about one person and a specific relationship. I’ve had a rough time with relationships, but I’m finally in one now that I feel confident in.” Baker, a 2021 graduate of Florence High School, says college isn’t part of her plans -- “school’s never been my thing” -- and her family supports that choice, just as they cheered her on during her “Idol” run. for the ABC reality series, adding his talents to a jazzy cover of a Whitney Houston hit, “I’m Your Baby Tonight.” This set the tone for Baker’s storyline on the show, which emphasized her music-making kin.
