Allen is getting an indoor playground along with its new recreation center.

Earlier this month, the Allen City Council authorized a $1,227,626 contract for an indoor playground at. The $54-million, 149,000-square-foot rec center is under construction and slated to open next summer.

The playground will feature 40-foot-tall towers, with enclosed catwalks and bridges, according to the city.
