The Alvin ISD Education Foundation set to host their annual Turtle Race on Feb. 11 at...
"Last year we had over 15,000 turtles adopted. We hope to exceed that number this year," said Sheila Olson, executive director of the foundation.
The adopted turtles will be taken to Mustang Bayou and dropped from the bridge along the Tom Blakeney Hike and Bike Trail. Then, they will"race" down the bayou to the finish line near the Adoue St. Bridge, where they'll be scooped out to determine the winners at National Oak Park, 118 S. Magnolia, Alvin.for the 5K Fun Run/Walk is $30 general admission and $25 for students. The fee is $20 for the Kids 1K.
