Amanda Abbington is reportedly preparing to hire a 'top lawyer' to retrieve BBC tapes of her rehearsals with Giovanni Pernice during her time on Strictly Come Dancing last year, which she abruptly ended "due to medical reasons".
However sources told the Mirror in January that Strictly bosses never received a formal complaint against Giovanni and were "puzzled" after the original footage request. “I'm very sorry that people felt the need to send me death threats, threaten my children and bring up my past, healthy relationship with an ex-partner as an indicator of my current mental health. I wish those people well."
Giovanni also talked about Amanda's sudden departure from the show. On the Mirror's Invite Only podcast, with his best friend and Strictly judge Anton Du Beke, he admitted: "It's a shame because, in my opinion, she could have gone all the way.
