Amanda quit the BBC dance show yesterday and the news was announced on Strictly's spin-off show It Takes Two.
Amanda Abbington's partner shared a cryptic post on Instagram just hours before it was revealed that she had quit Strictly Come Dancing.
Addressing the news, Amanda's professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice took to Instagram writing: "Amanda .. I am so sad we can’t continue but I am proud of what we achieved and I am sending you so much love @amanda_abbington74 @bbcstrictly." Amanda missed Strictly's live show on Saturday, with her absence announced on Friday night's edition of Strictly: It Takes Two. The mum-of-two shared a poignant message with her Instagram followers the following morning, reminding people: "People don't fake depression... they fake being okay. Remember that. Be kind."
Before Strictly announced the news on Monday, The Daily Star reported Amanda had quit the competition completely due to setbacks. A source told the publication: "The schedule is very gruelling and after a series of setbacks on the show she has simply decided, with regret, that it's the right thing to do."
