Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said on CNBC Thursday morning that the e-commerce and cloud giant is likely not close to adding cryptocurrency as a payment mechanism for its retail business, but it’s possible it would sell NFTs at some point in the future.
Jassy also predicted that cryptocurrencies would continue to become bigger over time, but noted that he doesn’t own any bitcoin personally.since taking over as CEO from Amazon founder Jeff Bezos last year. The letter makes no mention of bitcoin, cryptocurrency or NFTs.that said it was planning to accept payments in bitcoin by the end of 2021.
